the Aaron f. west scholarship
Honoring Excellence. Investing in Tomorrow.
On Saturday, December 6, 2025, the Nu Omega Alumni Chapter of Iota Phi Theta® Fraternity Incorporated proudly unveiled a scholarship that carries both legacy and purpose: The Aaron F. West Scholarship for Black Male Scholars and Leaders at North Carolina A&T State University.
This scholarship was established to honor a man whose life has been the blueprint for service, scholarship, leadership, and brotherhood.
Brother Aaron F. West — initiated through the Rho Chapter at Towson State University in 1986 — has been a pillar of Nu Omega for decades. His commitment to the work of Iota is unmatched:
Lifetime Member of Iota Phi Theta® Fraternity, Incorporated
Former President, National Iota Foundation
Longtime Advisor to the Zeta Undergraduate Chapter at NC A&T
Current Advisor to the Zetas, guiding generations of young men
Professor at North Carolina A&T State University, shaping minds inside and outside the classroom
Brother West has poured years of mentorship, wisdom, and unwavering dedication into Black male students striving to rise, lead, and push their potential further than they ever imagined. This scholarship is a direct extension of that impact.
Black male students at HBCUs face unique challenges — financial, academic, and societal. The Aaron F. West Scholarship exists to remove barriers, reward excellence, and create opportunity for the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators.
